How to make fondant baby shoes

This gorgeous little baby shoes are perfect for baby's first birthday cake or christening cake.
I hope this step by step pictures and shoe template could help you to create a beautiful centre piece.
You need about 300g of modelling paste to make a pair of shoes. Mix 1 teaspoon of Gum powder or CMC with 300g of fondant(sugarpaste) and let it mature for at least 7~8 hours. If your fondant is still too soft to work with, mix in a bit more of Gum powder or CMC or wait until the next day.

If you find it difficult to roll out paste evenly, use a pasta machine instead. You need to roll out no more than 4~5mm of thickness.

If your paste is too soft leave them to dry a little

This one looks quite soft.......
But

Use soft paint brush or your finger to shape them in place

Sorry~ the text in the picture is in korean. I took these pictures from my korean blog.
Put little water or edible glue along the pink line and the end of the inside strip.

Mark two little dots with black edible pen or a tiny ball of black fondant for teddy's eyes.

    1. Hi Jensen
      Sorry for the late reply~
If your paste is too soft you could add bit more gum powder or leave the shoe piece to dry a little. When the sides fall down use your finger or soft brush to shape them in place.
      I hope it works!

  32. Try adding some CMC to the fondant, this will allow it to be more manageable and it won't crack and be to sticky.
    Hope this helps?

  35. Very cute! Thank you for the pattern.

I will be making a pair without the strap on top and shipping it. Do you think it would be helpful to stuff some paper towels into them for the trip? Or can you recommend anything else I can do to help make sure they get through the mail okay? Normally I wrap with bubble wrap and pack empty space with paper towels or more bubble wrap.

  40. A few shoes do require a break in. What is a break in? You wear the shoe they will damage or squeeze for a couple of days at that point fit. Such shoes now and again wind up being the best shoes in light of the fact that whenever they have extended they will feet your leg and toes truly decent and can remain as such for quite a while. https://up2step.com/
