How To Make Meringue Pops and Meringue Cookies (Tutorial Video)

Meringue pop and meringue cookies are on trend at the moment. The delicious texture, abundant options of colour combinations and creative flexibility make these great for gifts and cake decorations. It may seem daunting at first, so I made this easy to follow tutorial for everyone to enjoy making meringues :)


Meringue cookie recipe:
3 egg whites (room temperature)
200g sugar
1/2 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract

Piping tips: 1M, 2D, 5FT, 9FT (large open star tip)

1. Put egg whites and vinegar or lemon juice in a clean, oil free mixing bowl.
2. Whisk on medium speed for 1 - 2 mins to break down egg whites, then whisk on high speed until foamy. 
3. Continue to whisk and gradually add sugar at about 1 tbsp at a time.
4. Keep whisking on high speed for 5 - 6 mins until stiff and glossy (do not over mix the meringue).
5. Add vanilla extract and whisk briefly.
6. Prepare meringue as shown in the video and bake at 100C / 200F in a preheated oven for 2 hours.

Keep the meringue in an airtight container.
